Welcome to the Student Festival of Fashion, proudly presented by the Mackay Pioneer Valley Arts Council.  The Student Festival of Fashion is a community driven event giving students the opportunity to express and explore their creative flare in design, art and fashion.  The event also provides students with the experience to expand and enhance their skills for their future path within the industry of creative arts and design.

REHEARSAL NOTES

These will be posted out in the next couple of days.

In brief the tmetable is:

Saturday 26th July 08

9 - 11 a.m.                 Garments to The Space MEC

10 a.m. - 1.30 p.m.    Rehearsal at MEC - all models and designers required

 11 a.m. - 2.30 p.m.   Judges inspecting outfits

3 p.m.                        Outfits available for collection

4.30 p.m.                   Dressing rooms available

7 p.m.                        The fun begins on stage

REMINDER

 

Nominations close 12^TH July, 08 – don’t be late.

 

Put the holidays to good use by putting those final touches on your outfit/s. Accessories, hair, make up etc add to the overall effect   

 

There’s great prizes up for grabs.

 

The Fashion Illustration winner will receive a fabulous Illustration book prize – worth its weight in gold for budding designers.

 

The winning entry in all other categories will receive $500 cash.

 

Major prizes for the 2 overall winners – one will receive a Bernina Sewing Machine (donated by Bernina) and the other will win a Canon digital camera & printer (donated by Whitsunday Office Machines) 

 

Nominations close 12th July, 08, 5 p.m.  at P.O. Box 1546, Mackay. Illustrations can be dropped in to Uniforms Mackay, cnr Sydney & Alfred Sts (opp Fire Station) (note change of address for dropping off nominations.)

PRIZES      PRIZES      PRIZES

 

Major prizes confirmed: 2 fabulous prizes for the overall winners. A Bernina Sewing Machine from Bernina and a Canon Ixus 80Is digital still camera plus a Canon 1P 4300 printer (print direct from the camera) donated by Whitsunday Office Machines.

 

Plus great cash prizes in each category.

 

The Fashion Illustration winner will receive a beautiful 560 page book which will be a great source of information for fashion designers.

This would be a great time to get started on your outfit for the SFF. Looking for material and accessories? Try the op shops or Needleworx. Keoghs Home Furnishings in Victoria St also have a ½ price rack at the moment.

Don’t forget the new category – Fashion Illustration.
