It is important to take these points into consideration. Naturally some categories will not use all of the above criteria, however every point should be considered by you when constructing your item to see if it applies.

RULES AND CONDITIONS

 

Please read these rules and conditions carefully, as they are necessary for the smooth running of the Festival and must be strictly adhered to.

 

1.      Designer must be a current high school student under the age of 19 at the time of competition.

2.      Items being entered must have been drawn, sewn or constructed by the entrant/s.

3.      Garments must be original, having not previously been entered into a fashion design award event in Mackay.

4.      A garment may only be entered in one category.

5.      Consideration must be given by designers that this is a student event to a wide audience age range and outfits must be acceptable for a youth event.

6.      Illustrations must be in a sealed envelope, have the designers name on the back of the illustration and be posted flat (i.e. between cardboard) or delivered to Uniforms Mackay, cnr Sydney & Alfred Sts (opp Fire Station)

7.      If there are 5 or less entries in a category only a winner will be selected.

8.      Entry forms are to be received no later than 5 p.m. 12^th July, 2008. Either posted to P.O. Box 1546 Mackay or dropped at Uniforms Mackay, Alfred St (opp Fire Station). No entry form will be accepted after that date.

9.      Payment must accompany the nomination form.

10.  A description of the entry and model’s name/s are necessary and must accompany the entry form.

11.  Image Consent Forms for all designers and models (separate forms please) must be signed by a parent or guardian and forwarded to the organiser prior to the event. No entry can be accepted unless these requirements are completed as without this form we would not be able to allow the entry to take the stage.

12.  Once nominated on the Entry Form, no item can be changed by either category or description after 21^st July 08.

13.  All entrants and models are required to be at a prior rehearsal on 26/7/08 at the Mackay Entertainment Centre.  Please note this will not be a dress rehearsal. Time to be advised

14.  The Committee reserves the right to appoint the Judges for the Festival.

15.  The winners shall be decided by the Judges. Their decision is final and absolutely no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.

16.  All entries from all categories are to be checked in between 9 & 11 a.m. on the morning of the event at The Space, Mackay Entertainment Centre.

17.  Final judging of garments will take place at Mackay Entertainment Centre on Saturday 26^th July, 2008 during the event.

18.  Student designers must ensure that a photo of their entry is taken by our professional photographer on the night.

19.  Designers and models only are permitted in the dressing rooms and back stage area once the show has commenced.
